volex power cables...
« on: April 14, 2005, 09:32:10 PM »
i swear i dont believe everything i read (for instance i didnt jump on the miracle sacd fix...

anyway, over at audio circles, this guy is humping these volex cables pretty hard. and 6 of them cost me around $30 shipped (you have to buy them in packs of 5 or more). so i did it...

plugged the volex into the furutech powerstrip... and all the noise that the DIP box introduced is now gone. when i added the furutech, the noise was eliminated, but then i added the monarchy upsampler DIP, and more elctric noise was introduced - and alot of it. it is gone now...

and watt's bass is flooding the room atm (w/ perkins killin' the skins!). stanton/bernard/walter are on deck, and the oade 9/30/85 source is batting third (my wife is having sdinner with her folks tonight, i am home alone :D)...

i am going to use a few of these for my computers soon, (they are win98, so they all crash periodically :P), but i doubt my media player 'puter will have an audible jump in it's sound from the upgraded cord, but i figure why not..?

tim, pm your addy to me, and i will send one of these to you - i am interested to know what you think, since you have the furutech, and we have had similar results with it up to this point...

i have one or two more of these that i would send to pbf'rs (playback forum readers) to try - they are just going to sit around   and like me, had a sh*tty computer cable connecting it to the wall, and.units at

i wanted to add - these are very well-built: sturdy cable, solid construction...

here is a pic - the volex in the center, and the ends of the cable it replaced on the outside...

Too busy getting ready for Panic, but after I'm back I would like to borrow one to try in my system.

I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia
