Hello everyone. Todd here.
I am going to be purchasing some gear from the yardsale to assemble my
first rig.
Now, I'm married w/ kids and a mortgage, so this is a starter rig for now
and fits my present budget perfect.
I will be taping around New England and taping MMW shows and other shows of that nature.
I will be purchasing the Busman PMD660 tonight and a pair of 391's on christmas day.
Just more or less wanted to say hi and to get some feedback on what I chose for a starter rig.
Be well.

The nmarried life and kids can be tough at first but roll w/ the punches and soon like me your kid(s) will be your best friend(s) when they block your stand for ya.

Hey there Todd... I got a whole stack of MMW DATs for you to circulate...
Everyone should know the NewP has been a major source of HQ MMW on BT.ETREE for a few years... He's put in a lot of work over there... Props to a fellow ETREEer!
Welcome to the Dark Side, Todd!

Thanks for the warm welcomes over here everyone.
Terry, anytime you feel the urge..... ;D
I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve night.
I have a few MMW Feb shows lined up
for their northeast run.
Great to be a n00b at something again.
I guess we're all new at something at any given
point in life, or else life would be boring.
Thanks all.

PM for help per stand, cables, batteries, etc... They're pretty cheap if you do it right...
If you need cables, I can put some together for you for free, if you buy the parts... Stands are dirt cheap on FleaBay and batteries can be had at Radio Shack...

sounds like a nice starter rig.

Very nice starter rig. The 391's got me started a few years ago. I still listen to those tapes (wilco from Langerado in particular).
Welcome aboard. Great hobby and inspiration given to a new father (me)....that you can still get out there and pull sick tapes with a family at home.
+T to get ya started off....

I think if I upgrade it would only be to the 460's or 480's ;)
Though I know a few of you in the past years, and you've all told me about the upgrade fever.

Not sure where your located, but in New Market, there is a great small club, The Stone Church, which gets a lot of great acts to record to get your feet wetter if needed....
-
hey todd i would start with a stereo mic instead of 2 mono's.easier and lot less complex to deal with if you're a noobie ;D

I go there about 8 times a year on average.
It's 25-min away approx.
