I have a Chris Church Batt Box and the IN/OUT lettering has worn off. Can someone please tell whether the IN socket is the one over the positive terminal or negative terminal of the 9v battery?
Thanks very much.

Bingo! Thank you very much!

On all of my battery boxes its always the side that is closest to the positive terminal that is the input.

I'm glad this subject came up, a few years ago I recorded a show where I mixed up the input and output. The recording resulted in a very low volume even with the level turned up all the way. Would I be right to attribute this to the mix up of input/output?

Of course. I'm shocked you got anything usable at all.

It was nothing I would trade out, lots of hiss from cranking the levels in post, not to mention the problems with the one speaker going out for most of the show (ended up going mono). Add in some crickets chirping, my daughter not knowing when to shut up (that has changed since) and using a cheap cardioid clip on mic, yes, not on my tradable list. But it was still an enjoyable show on a calm summer night.
