so, this guy that I ehrrrr... know.... ya... this guy that I know recently got a JB3 ;) But he cant for the life of him figure out how to transfer a wav to his PC... He installed the firewire card and the driver. What more is needed to transfer a file, and how do you do it? Sorry for the stupid questions ::)

Ok, I have the file manager, but I cant figure out how I get the audio onto the pc... Am I missing somthing??? I installed the file manager program, and the driver for xp, do I need somthing else? THANKS!

yeah man, alex, when i plug my jb3 into the comp via firewire, it automatically opens my creative playcenter

ya, I... I mean HE was having trouble, so he reinstalled all the drivers and programs... I think he has it working, but he had a history essay exam today so didnt get much time to fool w/ it after work...

So I got creative file manager 2 and I dont think its what I want... I can transfer songs to the jb3, but not from... Im a little confused on how to work this whole thing... I read some stuff, but nothing that lays it out clearly... Im sorry for the stupid questions but I need a tutorial.. sorry.

d00d, do a lil more research then, ummm, load creative disc in, BAM, plug into the comp, creative playcenter should pop up, put one side of the transfer screen on your pc music library, the other side should be the jb3, highlight a song or a set and once you click on it, the transfer buttons in the middle should allow you to transfer

Ya, I would go that route, but as a highschooler, there are other things Id like to spend 20 bucks on... Thanks though for the suggestion. If I every get some cash I might check that out!

I take it the refurbs don't come with the install disc since several people have had this problem. Unfortunately, the Playcentre software you can download is upgrade only - you need the original install (on the disc you didn't get).
I've had a few people download it from me (ftp)- you're welcome to do the same if you pm me. It's only about 27 MB zipped.

and then DO download and install the latest updates. It also put the nomad into Explorer, so you can access it as a drive on your system (I believe the new version of file manager adds this capability).

ya know, i've never had a problem with the playcenter or the file manager that came with the nomad. i've never tried notmad, maybe i'm missing out on something. but i guess if i've never had problems, why bother spending $20.

thats the way i look at it too, a 20% faster d/l isnt that big of a deal, hell, ive never used firewire before and its a dream come true!!!
4 mins for 3 hrs, hell yeah!!!

I swear by Notmad, and swear at Playcenter! The only thing I used Playcenter for was to put the custom startup image on.

i doubt i'll be loding up boot screen images. and i will use playcenter to sync up the time, but thats all. notmad is really a good product, for me. i love the fact that it open up an explorer window.

everytime my dad goes down there, he goes to the emergency room for something, this last time was his tonsils!!
