I just received an email from Frank at Cascade Media stating that Tascam has discontinued production of the DA-P1, wtf!!!

I would bet that they will be available for years to come through retailers.  Can't imagine many new units getting sold these days...

All dat machines will be discontinued the companies that make the transports stop making them. Tascam just used out the transport stock they had.
