Make your own and carry whatever you want...

The Core Sound mic2496 has only 1 Mini-XLR Plug, and i'd have to get a Breakout cable for $35 to get 2 Female XLR.  It dosent list that the Breakout Cable for the Mini-XLR were going to be Mini-XLRs' as well.  Just says XLR.

That kinda defeats the purpose dont you think?  =)

Or maybe im wrong  =P

that's because the industry standard for microphone connection IS the xlr.  i don't think preamp designers really have stealth tapers in mind when they design a unit.

you could always make (or purchase) custom cables to exactly suit your needs.

My question if i do make my own Breakout cable from the Mini-XLR input, to 2 Female Mini-XLR's, would that still give me 48v Phantom Power?  It claims to offer that on just the one plug with 1 9v Battery for 4 hours

even if you made your own mini-xlr cables, you still need the larger AT8533 xlr type adapters to covert the 48V phantom power to something the ATs can use.  Honestly, I wouldn't bother with the mic2496

Bingo...

you can always cut down the xlrs and make fairly small xlr's or just live with 9v...

RJ. You can do it. XLRs are not that big.
