I've got a set of CMC-2s, with the SP-SPSB-1 battery box (but I haven't used the roll-off - have found no need yet).
The Judas Priest and Scorpions samples on the following page were recorded using the CMC-2s, SP-SPSB-1 and Sony MZ-NH1 Hi-MD unit (in Hi-SP mode).
The other samples are from Core Sound CSBs - the Dare and Asia samples without bass roll-off, the Young Heart Attack sample WITH bass roll-off.
I've got two sets of mics - the CMC-2s and a set of Core Sounds' CSBs. So far, I much prefer the CMC-2s - especially for loud rock gigs. A very clear sound (compare to the CSBs) and can handle loudness AND bass. For the price, they are great.
http://www.aqsl13.dsl.pipex.com/Note - I had a problem at the YHA gig - whilst getting levels early on with the support act, I managed to lose my little rotating mic clips - so when it came to tape the show, I just had to wrap the mic ends around my spectacles. Not ideal!! So I had no idea really where the mics were pointing. The room acoustics didn't help much either - very small, very loud! Great gig though.
