Why not go with the 5's?  Just curious.  You get the best of both world's for outdoor taping...cards and omnis.  They also have a slight HF boost which make them sound VERY nice outside!!

I would love to get a set of mk5's to have both, but a matched pair of mk5 is going to be pushing $1700. So I sell the mk4's for around $800 and still have to put $900 in...but the thought has crossed my mind. Wish they made a fully selectable condensor schoeps cap, with 4 to 5 paterns.  ;D

now, that's a nice cap...but i do not particularly like the HF boost in all circumstances...i understand it in the far-field omni, but i wouldn't want that in the card...i'm sure it sounds great in some circumstances, but i wouldn't like it in all...some of jason's mk5 tapes sound great, but that's also matched with the tubes so some HF emphasis isn't bad.

Money of no importance, sure, I'd like a pair of those in the bag, but in reality, I could pick up 2 pairs of adk's and a mixer and run 4 mic mixes for less.  

Also, the housing on those looks particularly funny.  I don't think they the cards would sound too good run backwards in my "ortf" bar ;D :P

Get the 21's and kwonbar, I have both the 2s's and 21's and use the 21's much more than the 2s.  In fact I have only used the 2s twice in a the year that I have had them.  The 21's are great for outdoor stuff and indoors as well, and you can't run the omni's fob very easily . . .
