Anything New for the Edirol R-09?
« on: February 06, 2008, 11:57:32 AM »
Does anybody have any news about the R-09?  I have no complaints about mine; it's very stable and does what I want. I'm just wondering if Edirol/Roland is still developing new firmware for it.

Or, what features would you like to see implementable through software updates?

Red light can't be 100% disabled, but you can set it to only be on for a second or two after you hit "go."

I'll check my settings tonight and post 'em here.

EDIT: try this:

Go to the main menu, scroll down to #3 "Display Setup", hit "REC", then go to "Display Timer" and set your time.  I've got mine set for 10 seconds, which is plenty of time.  The red light will come on again when you take the hold button off, so be aware if you are stealthing.

As above ^^^ If you set the display timer to the minimum setting (2secs?), then your thumb will hide the light when selecting standby, then again for record. Works fine.

I am eager to hear from someone who sent their R-09 to Chris Church for his mic mod. I'm sure the mod makes a vast improvement.

Cool does that windscreen include a stand mount? that looks like it would work with my mic mod.

I thought the Don King windscreen had a lot of charm to it.
