Thinking about buying a cheap dvd burner. One question:
I have limited hardrive space (10 gb) and was wondering when I was making a dvd copy (clone) would I be able to do this with just one drive? Would it do it as in the same way as if you were "cloning" a cd; by temporarly storing it on the hardrive then buring to dvd?
Cheers!

yes. you'll need almost 5gb of free hdd space for the dvd files.

You would prolly have a prob even with 5gb free if it is a 10gb drive. 5400rpm drives work ok for video, but 7200rpm work better. It all depends on the speed that you are trying to burn at.
If you have a 4200, I doubt you would be able to burn at anything higher than 2x (if that)

hmmm, how would I check the rpm on my current drive?
