I've been using the R4 for a bit now. The interface is great, but I have to questions:
1. I would like to do is break a file and keep recording. Like the FF (>>) button on the NJB3. Why? Well, I'd like to "commit" the data to disk (eg., so I don't lose file if battery fails), or to mark a reasonable break point in the show. This should be seemless (or nearly) like the NJB3. Right now I just stop and record again, but this leaves a fair gap.
2. Is there a way to set the R4 to periodically save to disk? I've lost one recording so far when the battery died and it did not save.
Thanks,
Richard

I just had this same f*cking thing happen. The file was there with 0 kb after battery died? Any chance of salvaging it? I knew I had no batteries cause I didn't recharge before the gig. Then, I forgot to do a start/stop, doh! What an idiot...
Anyway, I wonder if it might be a seemless split if you start then start with the pre-record option set. Theoretically, you should be able to restart it before the pre-record fills up, but not sure, and especially not sure for 4 channel 24/96. I get 9 seconds of pre-record at 2xStereox24/44.1. We should test it. Also, I think there is a split function, but not sure, I'll take a look...
