This is more of a parts assembly project then really making something.
I wanted Rycote lyres but did not want the mounts they have or want to pay the prices... I may have not saved much $ , but got what worked well for me and suited my needs.
It's small and compact and works great!
I purchased these:

Impact Rapid Baby to 1/4"-20 Male Threaded Adapter = $11.68

Smallrig® Cold Shoe with 1/4" Screw Slot - 1499 = $7.90

Rycote Cyclone Universal Lyre, 72 Shore, Pair = $29.00
Photo shows it comes with screws , however the pair did not.

I also purchased a package of #4-40 x 1/2 in Flat Phillips machine screws with nuts - pkg or 14 pairs , only needed 2. I think it was $1.49
also purchased a pkg of white nylon flat washers #8 for about 59¢
A total of about $50 not much of a savings but its what I want a rapid adapter mount and Rycote llyres. I've only used it once so far but it's perfect for me!
Used a Sharpie to black out white and zinc and made this, for my SRS shapeways NOS an d DIN bars for my Milab VM44 links:

How tight was the fit of the little rectangular "keys" of the lyres into the slots on the cold shoe?
It looks like it went together well and is a slick little mount.

They fit rather well, I did need to round corner by filing the lyres tabs (or keys) as they were rectangular square corners and the slots are round cornered.
While it took a little work it wasn't difficult or time consuming. It's totally solid

have you used that with an ORTF bar?
I think it may be too wide

Well the NOS bar as I understand is specifically designed for the Rycotes... I will be getting my DIN bar soon, and it should be the same mount size as an ORTF bar.
I can check but the Lyre's are flexible and can be set at a narrower spacing, or even slightly wider then they are. The cold shoe mount is only 46mm wide or 4.6 cm not wide at all...That equals 1.75 inches.

Very nice AA :) I really dig the DIY mount! Pretty nice for $50 :)
