They may fit, but will definitely NOT work.  Those reducing rings are specific to the 460s only.

yes, I do believe they fit, but, as goose said, do not work.

Does anyone know why? Voltage difference? Any ideas..

There is an extra post on the 460 body at the capsule attachment screw point that allows use of these rings and the "active cables" that the 480s do not have.

That is as technical as I can get.   :)

Sorry, but this is incorrect.

A60M rings absolutely will work on the 480's.  I just called AKG here in Nashville and spoke to their head technician.

His exact words to me were "they work on both the 460s and the 480s.  If anyone told you they don't, they were misinformed."

I'd be curious to put it to the test though.

If I knew someone here in town with 480s I'd be glad to give this a go and see if it is in fact true.  Or if anyone wants to give it a try, PM me.

Goose, no offense meant or anything - I just realized my previous post sounded kind of harsh.  I was just quoting the tech.

None taken Dirk.  I was unfortunately going on hearsay as fact.  I have not tested the rings on 480s.   Glad to have the correct info either way.  Thanks for the follow up.
