Title: PCM-M10 channel balance adjustment?
Post by: valley_nomad on February 06, 2014, 05:15:12 PM
I got my PCM-M10 several months ago. And I just noticed that its right channel recording level is always about 3db higher than the left one's ;-( It happens for both internal and external mics. I am sure that it is not source related since it has the same issue even when I flip the recorder or swap the mics. Is there a way to make the balance adjustment? Or is it a known bug in PCM-M10?

I had this same problem with my first M10, but only with the built-ins.  Seems it was a problem with certain manufacturing runs.  I contacted Sony Pro tech support, and they had me send it to a service center in Teaneck, NJ.  Soon afterward I received a brand-new M10 for free that worked perfectly, all I had to pay was the shipping to send the old one to them.  I should also add that there was very professional email contact with a service agent all through the process - they do not mess around.
