Ok, so Im having issues with getting a torrent (any torrent) to seed on both Dime and JTT
Back in mid May, a pop-up come on the computer asking about upgrading to the latest version of uTorrent, and my wife, not knowing any better went ahead and selected YES.
(DOH!)
I just got into using torrent sites to seed my shows in the fall of last year, so Im a n00b at the whole TORRENT thing, but I DID have it figured out.
I honestly dont know what version of uTorrent I was using, but it was the one previous to this latest release and gave me no problems.
Here is what used to happen.
Open uTorrent, create torrent by ADD DIRECTORY, finding the file directory (i.e. main folder AC/DC , then select subfolder AC/DC London'79 BBC)
Torrent created and saved on desktop
Go to website, and post torrent.
Select torrent link after posting to seed torrent
BitTornado opens and then my PC files open for me in pop-up to find the same subfolder and select (once again, i.e. main folder AC/DC , then select subfolder AC/DC London'79 BBC)
BitTornado then reads the files to match with Torrent til 100% complete
Use BitTornado dropdown to select SUPER-SEEDER, then use again to select SEEDER
And it all worked PERFECTLY !
SO, I have reverted to uTorrent 2.2.1 version as suggested by Dime Wiki (since I dont know what version I WAS using),
And now here is what happens
Open uTorrent, create torrent by ADD DIRECTORY, then finding the file directory (i.e. main folder AC/DC , then select subfolder AC/DC London'79 BBC)
Torrent created and saved on desktop
Go to website, and post torrent.
Select torrent link after posting to seed torrent
uTORRENT pulls the link in to download file
I believe that when I am clicking on the link to start seeding of the torrent just posted, uTorrent thinks I want to DOWNLOAD this file instead of start seeding it.
I have my OPTIONS set up as suggested by the docs I have read, but still uTorrent tries to DOWNLOAD the torrent file instead of trying to start the seed
Options > Preferences > Directories - you can untick "Put new downloads in"
Options > Preferences > General - you can untick "When Downloading > Pre-allocate all files"
Options > Preferences > UI Settings - you can tick "When Adding Torrents > Don't start the download automatically"
Im hoping someone here can help me out, or at least send me to an UP TO DATE guide on torrenting/seeding as most of the ones Ive found are over 4 or 5 years old
Ive even tried installing BitTornado and uTorrent on a brand new laptop and still run into the same problem. uTorrent seems to think Im trying to download the show
Hugs and Kisses or Drugs and Money to anyone that can help.... (LOL)
Getting kinda desperate,,,, Ive been dealing with this since mid-May trying to work it out on my own, but still cant seem to find where the issue is.
Thanks
