Yet another gear bag question, I know... I've looked at previous posts, but as I've never had a proper gear bag, I have a little difficultly putting it in perspective.
Right now I usually just put my gear in a non-padded messenger bag and wear the bag, which works great for clamping and for "stealthing" at shows where taping isn't discouraged.
But as I've picked up some 4021s, and the more open taping I do, I think I need something a bit safer. Biggest priority for me is minimal footprint; ideally I'd like something I could keep wearing during gigs and that I wouldn't feel uncomfortable wearing.
The typical gear I carry is relatively smalll:
Bogen Superclamp + short extension bar and if necessary, the articulated arm
7' extension bar (which doesn't go in the bag anyway)
t-bar/shockmounts/kwon bar as required
Deck: Either an R-09HR or, maybe eventually, an R-44
Pre: either nothing, a Church pre or a Naiant littlebox
Mics: Small mics, either 4021, AKG actives.. small stuff
cables.
Then just a flashlight, batteries and such things. I try to travel as light as I can.
Any suggestions? I see lots about the lowepro bags but again, I have trouble conceiving of how the various sizes fit with my needs
