Title: Shure WL185

Anyone have experience with the Shure WL185 mics? I recently heard a show captured with them and it sounded very good but in looking into the mics, the spec are less than impressive. Wondering if they are worth picking up as a backup/addition to the stealth setup.

I have a pair I got for free from an old church install.  I wired 'em up to 1/8" and power them with the PIP from my M-10.  You're right about the specs being less than impressive.  They sound fine for loud sources, but they were designed to be really close to a speaker's mouth.  They have audible noise when recording low volume sources at distance.  They updated the WL185 to have better RF immunity, but mine are one new and one old, so the old one gets a lot of cellphone noise.  I think if you don't need the swap-able capsules (they make omni, card, and hyper) then anything Chris Church makes would be better for your buck.  I got mine for free, and I don't stealth much so they are my only pair of that style.
