hi,

i've trolled around the faq's a bit and haven't been able to find something to suit...

i'm looking for something light, cheap (sub $200 without mic) and rugged in the flash-based category, that can be unobtrusive and record while moving around (which disqualifies MD and HD-based recorders), preferably with a one-touch system - an idiot-proof gui is a plus, i don't feel l. I'll be recording ambient sounds with occasional very loud bursts, and i don't need something that does lossless - anything that could encode MP3 or similar at 128kbps+ is fine. i also need to edit the data on a mac, which i understand creates a problem when trying to get high-bitrate data off the iRivers...

any ideas ?

I bought an iRiver 128mb flash mp3 player that recorded via line in or internal mic about 2 years ago. It was $120 then and it recorded lectures just fine to mp3.
