Title: ATTN: Mytek Users
Post by: chris_jones on July 26, 2005, 06:12:26 PM
I've been told DC jack is 2.1 x 5.5 (same as mini-me), but 4 different 2.1mm jacks don't fit the unit.  odd.

has anyone run this on DC yet?  if so, what dimensions are your connectors?  I feel like I coulud force it, but it's not going.  Don't want to break it, but want to use the gear.  almost looks like the center positive pin is too fat.

nevermind, apparently it's 2.5 x 5.5...

i love it.  very clean.  very transparent.  very detailed.

it's a small companybased out of small shop in NYC.  but they make some sweet products.  a lot of studio guys are choosing mytek gear over the "big boys" like apogee, lavry, etc.  and this is over things like the trak2 and psx100, not the minime...

What is everyone running, the Stereo 96 or the Stereo 192? Any difference between the two (besides sample rates)?
Title: Re: ATTN: Mytek Users
Post by: krebsy on July 28, 2005, 10:36:56 AM
http://mytekdigital.com/products/stereo192adc.htm

The main differences between Stereo192ADC and Stereo96ADC are:

-    up to 192k operation (for playback at 192k check Stereo96DAC or 8X192 ADDA)
-    ability to work on Battery Power
-    ultra hi-end audiophile grade front end featuring large solid state capacitors (instead of electrolytics)
-     Trimpots/knob switchable on front panel
-     No 16/20 bit output (only 24)

like krebsy said, 192 is the only dc powered one

it lasts over 3 hours on the lithium from walmart.

big ray, why even bother with the 722 if you are going to wind up running a preamp and a adc in front of it?  $2400 for a recorder?  seems like overkill to me, you could get a r4 or something for quite a bit less and run 4 mics if size isn't an issue.  use that extra scratch to buy more shit ;)

I was talking with my tounge in my cheek.  ;)

I think I have a perfect setup, the only thing I would possibly think about is 4 channel mixer to run my mics into it.
