JB3->Firewire->PC - "Temp Folder Full"??
« on: June 04, 2008, 07:17:54 PM »
I did a search for this issue, but came up with nothing relevant.

Ok...so....the "temp" folder is definitely not full and I have hundreds of GBs free on my primary and secondary internal HDDs. This issue has been popping up sporadically for the past few months, but it seems to happen 90% of the time now. Here we go...

Plug in the JB3 to the AC power cable. Turn it on. Plug in Firewire cable. PC recognizes it. Start up Nomad Explorer and can see the recording files. I do the ole "drag and drop" to my PC HDD, and then a message pops up telling me that the "temp folder is full or write protected". This rarely happens on smaller files, usually only on the larger 2+ hour recordings. I then go to the exact path that it mentions in the message, and it's empty. I've tried every conceivable combination of settings and options...nothing seems to kick this.

Any ideas what is causing this? Any idea how to fix it?

I have had the same issues on my old computer.  And like you only happened on long recordings (over 1.5 gb).

In my case the virtual memory size was not large enough.

To set this in XP, Right click on My Computer > Advanced tab > under performance click Settings > Advanced > under Virtual Memory click Change.  Here you can set the Initial size.  In XP the max size is 4092 MB.
