Title: 3rd Party software for connecting a MAC to a Samsung DV cam?
Post by: timP on December 17, 2007, 09:26:01 PM
trying to help a freind who just made the switch to MAC (I am still using a PC myself)

but he just got a new MacBook Pro running Lepord (sp?) and his Samsung miniDV cam only seems to have a Windows driver available on Samsung's site.

looking for another program that might recognize the camera maybe?

thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Have you tried it with just a Firewire cable and whatever video editing app is included with Mac OS?  I think most of the time the control and capture on DV cams is pretty standardized.

ah yes, the main difference between Mac OS and Windows... plug in the cable and it just works... unlike Windows which usually requires new drivers and at times multiple reboots.
