Title: sbm-1 repair ?
Post by: Chris K on December 29, 2004, 11:35:47 AM
levels were cutting out on me last night at duo and gordon. no worries cause there were many tapers there. i was running mp-2 > xlr to rca Kind Kables > sbm-1 > 7pin to mini toslink > jb3.

thinkin it was the 7pin cable i re-inspect the conections and everything seems fine. turns out the rca line in on the sbm-1 is the culprit. maybe the soldering is coming loose on the pcb board? guess i should not leave it connected in my rakgear backpack when not in use. maybe the sbm-1 is just a little worn. it is a todd r mod sbm-1

anyway, is this something someone with average soldering skills can tackle, or should i just bring it into pro-digital to have them fix?

i'm going to just bring this in to pro-digital. i spoke with tom there today (paul was off) and he said it should be an easy fix and i could have it back next day. it helps that pro-dig is only a few minutes away from my home.

a few minutes away? i'm oh so jealous -- i have to ship things over the pacific via ems courier, but hey it pays to know that you're dealing with the best. :)

good luck with the repair.
