Title: Static from cables, can someone help fix em?
Post by: Kevin on October 04, 2005, 10:51:13 PM
I have a pair of silver serpent XLR cables that add static to my recordings and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me or could possibly fix them.
Should I send them back to the company?
Preciate the help fellas ;)

when i have problems with my xlrs, i take them apart and check them with a multi-meter.  Usually my problem stems from a wires touching.  I don't know if this helps at all, but it works for me.

Whut he said! Use multimeter to check each pin on both sides w/ contin. After checking each pin and find its okay. Check one pin and on the other side check the other two for a beep. If ya get a beep ya have cross contamination and need to check the wiring. If ya find nothing after this then send them back.
