doesn't the mt use a cf card

and to expand on the "issue" - not sure if its the same with the mt2 but with the mt1 it showed you the "time left" for 2gb file
its poss that it is showing you the time left on 2gb file, then it will autostart a new file at that point

but i am not sure - just a idea
Mics - AKG ck61/ck63 (c480b & Naiant actives), SP-BMC-2
XLR Cables - Silver Path w/Darktrain stubbies
Interconnect Cables - Dogstar (XLR), Darktrain (RCA > 1/8) (1/8 > 1/8), and Kind Kables (1/8f > 1/4)
Preamps - Naiant Littlebox & Tinybox
Recorders - PCM-M10 & DR-60D

On the MT II, it's a setting under Options > Rec Time Display. Possible values are "Time until 2GB" and "Time on media".

Try reformatting the CF card in the MicroTrack and see if that helps.  I use a 16GB card without any problems in my Microtrack II.  It is a Transcend 16GB card 400X speed card that I purchased at B&H Photo for about $50.00.  I used the same model card on  the original MT I without any problems.
