I guess it dropped in time to compete with the new Zoom H2 coming out this month. The retail price of the H2 really shock everyone. Good thing about the MT is it's the only portable with digital in. But I'm sure very soon there's going to be one with digital in (even the basic portable MD recorders have optical in).
