DIY Mic Matching?
« on: October 24, 2005, 01:26:17 PM »
I may have a chance to pick up another set of AKG 393's...I was wondering:

1) is it worth it to compare all four bodies?
2) would it be better to send my current pair of bodies to AKG for "tune up"?

If it generally is worth it to DIY matching, what tests would you perform and how would one analyze the results.  Any detailed description would be great...

...there is nothing necessarily wrong with my current bodies...I just want to maximize my return.

I could be wrong.. but I would think that all four will be verrrrrrrry similar.
