Post by: FiKe on February 19, 2004, 05:06:04 PM
Right now I running 460s>dmic-20>M1 and use a UA-1D for transfers,Id like to run the dmic >ua1d >laptop ,Im getting a pretty good bonus in the middle of March and I want to buy a laptop and eventually phase out the M1,does anyone run a laptop with the dmic-20?? if so I be intrerested in hearing what you have to say about this set up and would my desired set up work??. In the future maybe next year I plan to go the 24/96 route. Some laptop brands  Im considering are sony, toshiba and fijutsu Ive heard that dell has a problem running with the lid shut.
Any input here would be greatly appreciated thanks.

the combo would work, but bear this in mind, the ua1d is not bit perfect.

also, id NEVER lug a laptop around for 16-bit, but thats just me, a used d-8 or jb3 could be had for WAY less $$ and hassle :)

Im so sick of the of the time it takes to transfer and now im looking into a mme or v3/lappy set up. I also now have almost given up and conceded defeat to the  24/96 world and Im considering all the options for play back but Im still really foggy on the whole 24/96 to 16/44.4 thing so I have alot of reseach to do,Ive kept things pretty simple so far with the dmic-20>M1 and have made some pretty good tapes. But no one ever said anything about this EVIL  tendency toward gettting better and better reordings someo ne should post a bewre of the addictive nature of this hobby. In fact thats going to be my next post.
