Edirol R-09 s/n ratio vs. R1
« on: June 03, 2006, 08:40:17 AM »
Has anyone done a measured test comparing the signal to noise ratio between the R1 and the R9 using internal mics?  I am still trying to figure out how to do it and I think I have a way that takes into account gain structure and mic sensitivity.  I'll try it and report.

But in the mean time, doing an informal side by side test, I find essentially no difference.  Oddly, the R1 seems to pick up a bit more ambient room noise, especially in the mid to low frequency area and the R9 sounds a bit more natural.  But listening through the room noise for the hiss, I find very little audible difference.
