Title: 6 volt v2 powered by naztech 15000 question...

Any idea how long the Naztech 15000 will power a 6volt V2? Mines on 3 of 4 bars...forgot my charger.

HI not sure about the v2 but i just used my Naztech 15000 with my Minime at 12 volts for two sets at panic. even turning the mini me off at set break.. I checked it the next day and it only had 2 bars left ???.  thought i would have had at least 3 bars left..not sure. Maybe thats right..?

waltmon -- you may be able to pick up a reasonably cheap charger + correct sized tip at Radio Shack, if you absolutely must get it charged.  If the specs for the Naztech are correct on Amazon, you'd need a 12V / 2A charger.  I don't know if positive (+) is ring or tip, but it's usually tip.  But not always.  Someone with the Naztech charger + a multimeter could check for you in a matter of seconds.

The Naztech 15000 is rated at 55.5Wh.  Watt-hours (Wh) / Volts (V) = Amp-hours (Ah).

For 6V V2:  55 Wh / 6V = 9.25 Ah.  V2 draws ~0.5 A (taken from the V2 manual).  9.25 Ah / 0.5A = 18.5 hours.  That's purely theoretical.  Assume maybe 75% of that to account for real world v. theoretical (e.g. the efficiency of the DC-DC converter, or whatever implementation allows the Naztech to output a variety of DC voltages).  So 18.5 hr * 0.75 = 13.875 hrs.

For 12V Minime:  55.5 Wh / 12V = 4.625 Ah.  Minime draws between 1-2A (from the Apogee site).  If we assume the low end of 1A:  4.625 AH / 1A = 4.625 hrs.  Again, that's theoretical.  Probably 75% of that is a conservative estimate, or 3.47 hrs.

The amperage draw of the mics you're using matters, so the above may be high or low for your application.  Only way to know for certain is to test your own gear under controlled circumstances.  But as a ballpark figure, based on a full charge of the Naztech, the above may be helpful.

IME, bar indicators for remaining battery capacity are notoriously inaccurate and often not linear.  So 2/4 bars may not mean you have 50% capacity remaining.  It could just as easily mean you have 24%, or 27%, or 60% remaining.

Yes...we just had lunch and walkabout...we are 3 blocks away. Def will roll v2 tonite...see where I'm at. I've got lotsa 744t juice...I brought my mini xlr patch cables...so that's possible too. Pumped to roll these next 3 nights.

Recording went well albeit I was in total defense of the rig mode all night. Just wanted to report that with turning v2 off at set break...battery only dropped 1 bar,

strongly advise a "dry run" when you have a  chance -- record your stereo with fully-charged batteries and run until batteries are depleted.  Note total time and repeat a few times to establish a good baseline.
