I am running a Canon HF200 HD Camcorder, with a Church Audio 9000 pre and CA-11 mics. The unit has a manual audio input adjustment.
I hook the amp output into the mic jack and set the gain at 10db. volume knob on the 9000 to max and adjusted the DB meter on the camera to what appeared to be reasonable (NO 0's) The meter pegged at about 12 db but didn't move even with obvious variations in the sound. So I adjusted the gain to 0db, better, but still oversaturated and clipped. I wind and audio attenuator are off.
Questions;
1. Is there any way to not overload the input jack on this camera.
2. Does the "volume" knob on the 9000 do anything? I have recorded with several settings without noticeable change.
3. Can I just run the mic without the amp?
4. Am I asking too much and should I just dub in audio in Vegas?
