Title: PCM-D50 - still a great recorder
Post by: kleiner Rainer on June 19, 2017, 02:44:32 PM
Hello all,

for our nature conservation group I recorded a frog concert with my trusty PCM-D50:

https://soundcloud.com/user-565681113/froschkonzert

Internal mics, set at 120 degrees, -20dB, Level at 6/10, Rycote Mini Windjammer (for H4n), 44.1kHz/24 bit

Recorded June, 18th 2017, 18:05

Location: https://opentopomap.org/#marker=17/48.75288/9.59603

Waterfrogs, Pelophylax kl. esculentus

For maximum effect, use headphones :-)

Enjoy!

Greetings,

Rainer

nice!! I've done the same with my d50 for green tree frogs and crows. I always get too many automobile or airplane sounds, though.

Greets from Oregon to Stuttgart!

Der frosch are very cool...

I have something I did in DC with what I think were cicadas.  There is traffic and subway and industrial noise too but it all works together (especially since nature is louder and more persistent than the human generated parts).  I've been meaning to do something with it as a found sound piece.
