Yet another JB3 Question...
« on: June 28, 2004, 03:51:24 PM »
I always read about the "blazingly" fast transfer speeds from JB3>PC using Firewire...what' the story on USB? Any faster than real time at all?

I checked the wonderful FAQ, and it answered pretty much every other question I had...just no luck on this one.

Absolutely faster than real time. While it doesn't zoom, I've downloaded at somewhere around 100 times faster than real time. 2 Gigs goes through in like a minute.

USB is nowhere near as fast as the firewire though.  Since it's only USB1, I'd say it takes around 25-30 mins to transfer a gig.

I use the USB 1.0 connection.  I can transfer 1 hours of 44.1k WAV in about 15 minutes.

***Do you have PHISH, VIDA BLUE, JAZZ MANDOLIN PROJECT or any other Phish related DATs/Tapes/MDs that need to be transferred???  I can do them for you!!!***

I will return your DATs/Tapes/MDs.  I'll also provide Master FLAC files via DropBox.  PM me for details.

One hour is what, 600 megs or so?  So 25 mins or so for a gig sounds about right.
