Title: anyone use the canon HF-M30?
Post by: Gordon on January 06, 2011, 02:12:43 PM
looking for HD, good in low light.  that said it's not primarily for shows but for my new daughter.  I do need one that will work well for shows (open on tripod, but generally low light).

no matter what it is under $500 (4 or under is better) and unfortunately available at bestbuy since I have some gift cards for there.

I have been looking at this camcorder also. From what I have researched low light is average.
My local BB has this for 399 but has been out of stock for awhile. I have some gift cards burning a hole in my pocket also

Looks pretty good!It has built in video light which is good for up close stuff, mic input and headphone input.

The only thing that raises the overall cost is that you will need the BIG battery if you want to shoot a concert ( $100 ) and an SDHC card that is 32gb and class 4 or faster Class 6 is best.( $100 ).Camerea has 8GB built in memory won't get you much time.Might be better to consider the next step up with 32GB built in memory.Still will need to get the BIG battery.Good luck!
