Adobe Audition v3.0 - combine 4 files to 1 file possible??
« on: August 01, 2008, 10:28:59 AM »
I'm testing my new R-09HR at the moment, and as we all know this very nice small machine cuts long audio-files automatically a part. I've ran a test with the R-09HR (set to 24/96) and recorded some noises for about 4hours on a 8GB-SDHC-card. Now I got 4 seperated files of about 1hour each.

Is it possible to put all the files together to 1 single file within Adobe Audition v3.0??

Yup;  File|Open Append> opens a dialog for browsing and selecting your files.  At least in AA 1.0 anyway.  Can't see why they'd drop that feature.  I'm not sure if there is a max file length involved here but there might be.  Good luck.

Adobe will support files bigger than 2GB.

I'v got a questin for all y'all.  Did a mix down in audition saved the mix down.  Then when I tried to open it with wavelab the file has a 0mb size?  Yet it opens fine in Adobe audition.  Opened in Audacity no problems.  Saved with audacity, then wavelab would open it.  WTF is going on?  Why won't wave lab open the file?  Any ideas gang?

just open all files, select the complete wavform of file1, copy -> paste in the new file, jump to the end and select the next one...

thats the way i combine my tracks in audition3
dont know if there´s a better way.

By far the easiest way, using Audition 3.0, is to follow O-Canis' instructions. No need to copy & paste.
AT853's (all caps)/CM-300 Franken Naks (CP-1,2,3)/JBMod Nak 700's (CP-701,702) > Tascam DR-680
Or Sonic Studios DSM-6 > M10

^^^Second this.  The suggestion to open all four files and then copy and paste them all together would take alot more time than open append...plus you might accidently not grab the whole file to copy and paste.  It's already been suggested a couple of times already, but the function to use is 'Open Append' and it exists on both Audition 1.0 and Audition 3.0.  It's right beneath the 'open' and 'close' functions in the first pull down menu in Audition.  I've never run into any file size limitations in Audition, which includes a continuously recorded Panic 3hour long show in 24bit (no setbreaks), which ended up in 24 bit being someone on the order of close to 3gb at 24/48.
