Just started recording at 24 bit using a Marantz PMD-671 and now I've got to figure out a good way to get the 24 bit files onto a DVD. I've read a number of positive comments about Audio DVD Creator, but wanted to know how this would compare to Discwelder Bronze. Also, does Audio DVD Creator actually make DVD-A discs?

not technically form what I understand. however it make a regular dvd there is just no video. only the audio. it is a great program and is very easy to use. never used discwelder so I can't comment on it.

Gordon is right.
Audio DVD Creator make Audio DVD's, but are burned in DVD-Video format, just no video.
Discwelder actually burns true DVD-Audio.
You are better off using Audio DVD Creator as it is compatible in any DVD player, and not just DVD players that support DVD-Audio.

I've used discwelder bronze for a while now, and I think it's great. I can't provide a direct comparison with audio-dvd-creator, because I've never used it.
a big plus for discwelder (and true DVD-Audio discs), is the support for many sampling rates. DVD-Video discs are limited to 48 and 96kHz.
with discwelder bronze, I can burn 16/44.1 DVD-Audio discs. While the main purpose is to be able to burn 24 bit audio, it's nice to get a whole show on a single disc. (a show from years ago that was taped at 16 bit). just something else to consider.

I got a 'evaluation' version of Discwelder Chrome II. It is a super cool program, I've installed it, but haven't burned any discs with it since I don't have DVD-A capability on my home unit...just my computer.
Chrome II offers some other nice features as well..such as MLP and DSD support...just a hefty price tag of $3000.

I would go with Discwelder (got the chromed edition) for ease of use, then wavelab. Audio DVD creator I would skip entirely - doesn't really make DVD-A.

agree it doesnt make DVD-A but what then is the difference if the resolution is identical? regardless of whether it is DVD-A or DVD-V. Add to that DVD-V discs are compatible on all players and have no hiccups with supposed "standards based" DVD-A players where some Wavelab authored discs get skips in between tracks.
fwiw, I have had zero issues with Audio DVD-Creator...great product, priced appropriately, easy interface.

I've had discwelder chrome for a few years now, works great, never a problem!
