Does anyone know how to upgrade the hard drive on the R4?
I've got a new (80G, 4200RPM) drive, but I can't get the system to recognize it.
Do I have to format from my computer? If so, how do I get an 80G FAT32 system on there?
(it is FAT32, right?)
Thanks,
Richard
Nevermind... I found out how to do it.
- Install new disk in R4
- connect to PC (windows XP) with USB
- control panel > ... > disk management: make a partition, but do not format it
- Windows XP cannot format FAT32 bigger than 32G, so you need this program:
http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/download/fat32format.zip
Run from "command line": fat32format x:, where x is drive # of R4
- I'm not sure it is necessary, but I also updated BIOS of the unit (following Edirol's website).
