Earthworks SR71 Question
« on: March 27, 2006, 11:24:51 PM »
So after snatching a few pulls with these mics, I really love the sound.  So here's the question, what are the odds of me finding a set of these?  I know they're discontinued and ebay is bereft of them currently, and that makes me question if anyone with them would ever want to get rid of them.

This is a sort of down the road thing for me, so I guess I'm asking for anyone's best guess on this for the future would be.

Thanks for all the help guys, love this place.

well,,,,, as a light at the end of the road for you....

i know that my brother sold a set of these mics within the last 8 months or so.... so they are out there, just have to keep both your eyes and ears open. save the money,, and when someone offers up a set... jump on it!    there  other earthworks that sound good too... especially the sr-77 !  keep looking ... they are out here...

You're definitely right about the other sets that sound great too.  I really just sort of wondered about the SR71 because I'm in a bit of sticker shock at the prices of the rest of the Earthworks mics.  Thanks for the advice, I'll keep my eyes peeled for a good deal on either set.

Just recently (in the last 2 weeks) I saw somebody post a set for sale... DAT Heads maybe???? I'll try digging around and post the link or tell you where they were if I find them again.

Darn. Found what I saw and they were SR-78 mics, not 71 mics. Sorry
