AT 831 bodys + 853 caps

Read somewhere it could be done, if so is it easy?

Yep.  Just do it :).

The threads are the same.  The 853 caps are a bit bigger in diameter, but fit and function just fine.  In fact, in some ways I *prefer* the 831 bodies as they are quite a bit smaller and they are made of metal, not plastic.

This is my current setup, it works very very well. The caps are just a bit wider than the bodies but it isn't really noticable. The good thing about using them on the 831 bodies is that it makes the whole mic a lot A LOT smaller. I used it to stealth my first show, mounted in croakies and had no problem. You can hear a sample from the post I made a little bit earlier.
