i always felt hindered by not being adept at audacity. I've used it now and again for specialized tasks but im really in a foreign land
20 years of soundforge is hard to undo. the money is in knowing all the shortcuts in your head to get through workflow quickly

Nah, until someone confirms the "Change Speed" function doesn't truncate your digits (screwing up your stretch), I'm staying with V 2.1.0.
Anyone test it out yet?

Oh yeah, forgot that needed fixing. I have not. Running v2.1.2 on my work computer, installed 6 years ago, to accommodate simple multi-track playback. I don't use this machine to do any actual editing.
Would think that should be a priority, especially given the myriad of scientific uses.

I'm stuck with 2.1.0 for stretch/squash work, but that's not compatible with Big Sur, so I keep an older mac on High Sierra for those jobs.
the Pixel Bending stuff is interesting in that video, where you do a raw import of video, process it with plug ins and then export raw

Audacity 3.0 appears to be the start of the presumed spyware function, so any version starting with 2 is free of that.
2.4.2 is my current one for big sur mac os

You can still download the old versions. I'm also running 2.4.2 after removing the new version.
