Title: M10 power button is sticky
Post by: jbell on October 15, 2013, 07:34:56 PM
Can I safely use alcohol to clean the power slider on my M10??  It sticks when powering on or off.  TIA

Is it rubber or plastic? I once used alcohol for a similar task (the rubber-ish gain slider of a recorder) and it stopped being sticky when sliding but acquired a very disgusting touch, like it was half dissolved or something. Terrible actually.

If it's plastic I don't think there's a problem.

Probably the best & safest method is to use DeoxIt.

Much more expensive than alcohol, but it's good stuff to have on hand for other uses such as cleaning noisy volume control knobs on stereo receivers, etc.

Thanks I'll grab some!!  I was thinking alcohol would be an easier option, but I don't want to damage the recorder.
