In the process of installing a new drive, I somehow installed XP onto both partitions of a 80GB. I deleted the WINDOWS folder from the partition where I didn't want it. When I reboot, I still get the selection screen for which OS I want to load. How do I tell the BIOS I only have a single boot machine now?

this doesn't have to do with your BIOS, it is listed in your boot.ini file.
it is located at C:\boot.ini however, in order to see it you will most likely have to goto Tools > Folder Options > View.
make sure you have "show hidden files and folders" enabled and "hide protected operation system files" turned off.
you should be able to edit it using Notepad.
now here is the somewhat tricky part. when you boot up and it asks you to choose which XP you want to boot into, the order in which it is listed corresponds to how it is listed in the boot.ini file so be sure to remove the correct entry.

if you can't find it and you already deleted the windows directory for the one install you can try this.
goto start > run > type "msconfig"
under the boot.ini tab you should see the following

if you click the "check all boot paths" button, it will probably not be able to verify the windows install you deleted as a valid boot option and ask if you want to remove it.
