just wondering, what B&Ws do you have?

803's, 805s and an htm-1

Wow.  Very nice.  I have a pair of 303s and a LCR3.  I still need rear surrounds... was thinking of another pair of 303s.  The salesman was suggesting I get 601s, use those as my fronts, and move the 303s to the back.  We'll see what happens...

i do love my system, what can i say.  i don't forsee upgrading much in the future.

Was also wondering if you can run the same pairs for both front and rear, (such as 303's) for both! these are top notch monitors, so if the surround unit(receiver) is decoding what it should be per channel, does two of the same front and rear really matter?

It's possible to do that... it's an option I'm considering.

you certainly can, but just remember that your rears will need less than your fronts- they take significantly less than the fronts to drive the sound

I really like my buddy's Outlaw.  They make a couple nice preamp only versions that would be appropriate since you already have amps (vs. the reciever models linked to earlier in the thread) all with the features you're looking for.  Appeals to me as a sweet price/performance value for a quality unit.  Worth looking at. $600-$1K range I believe.

I'll be upgrading my playback in a year or so once I get my house back together, so I'm curious as to what you decide on.

The Outlaw gear gets great reviews - from even the highend audio rags like The Absolute Sound.
and the best thing is, they sell direct to public, so they cut out the middleman,
and you get an in=home trial to try them out.
