which SP battery box for DPA 406x
« on: July 22, 2006, 06:56:46 PM »
I'm slowly acquiring a set of the Lemo'd DPA 4060s from Ebay with the intention of soldering on a stereo minijack and using a Sound Pros battery box to power them.

I notice that the SPSB-2/6/8 are all either $48 or $49 at the moment so I was wondering if any of them was particularly well suited to the DPAs.

From a quick TS search (and nosying at various sigs) it seems that the SPSB-2 is the most popular one for these mics. But that provides 12v whole the other two are 9v - and I thought the DPAs shouldn't have much more than 5v...

Of course, I've probably got completely the wrong end of the stick so any words of wisdom would be much appreciated.

btw postage to the UK more or less doubles the price of those boxes...
