Sorry, just picked up a 430EX II flash for my Canon XSi.  I'd been debating spending the $300 for a flash for years, and finally gave in.  Best purchase EVER.  :D

I bought one a good few months ago,and although there is a lot of tech stuff i dont understand about it the difference is incredible.Its made soooo much difference to portrait kind of shots,so yes it was a bit expensive,but its been worth it.

How is the 430 powered? I just got a Canon 60d and will need a decent flash soon.
