What's new & exciting in HD Video Cameras
« on: April 22, 2009, 08:52:02 AM »
Can'y believe i'm being so lazy and making one of these threads rather than reading up,
but I answered many when I was familiar with the current gear, so help me out  :P

I want to get an HD cam for gigs.
Would like to spend under 1k$ (if that's even possible while getting good lowlight performance), and the more stealthy the better.
What is comparable quality to what my panasonic gs400 was in the SD age?

Should I be looking at a Canon HV-30??
Haven't been following video cameras lately at all.

I'd say for under a grand you can get a Canon hv 30 from bhphoto for $600 shipped, which is a great deal.I have one,but for lowlight performance the hd cams especially with cmos sensors need lots of light. You won't get good lowlight performance unless you go with sony fx 1000 or sony ex1.I'd say spring for the canon hv30 while you can get it for $600.  And get the BP2L24H high capacity battery for 89.99
