Lots of microphone test recordings!
« on: September 19, 2006, 04:12:11 PM »
Hi,

As I was searching the internet for info on the Milab VM44 Link system I found this site:

http://testing.holmerup.biz/mic_pretest/

It i s a Swedish guy that have tested about a zillion different mics under the same circumstances.
There is a guitar track, a female vocal track, a male vocal track and a loudspeaker recorded track for each mic (almost).
All files are wav format and mp3 if you like that better.

There are some tech info on how he did it too in Swedish.
If there is some specific part you feel need to be translated let me know and I´ll help out.

Hope someone has use for the files!

Thomas

Thanks for the links.  Just so people know off the bat, these are 32-bit FP files.

That's really cool. +T

btw, what's an FP file? Should I hang my head in shame for asking?

I'll let someone else explain this in detail.  I'm pretty sure that WinAmp does not support 32-bit floating point files, but it will play 32-bit PCM.

This is a free program that (I read) will support the files, if you don't already have a program that does: http://www.foobar2000.org/

So it's just a 32 bit .wav then?

Kind of, yes.
Winamp can´t play it but Windows Mediaplayer does, at least version 11.
