akg ck31 with lm3
« on: September 20, 2006, 03:13:03 PM »
Is anyone out there using the akg ck31 capsule with the lm3 cable? Or just the ck31 cap? I can't seem to find any recordings on archive.org or any info here at TS. I already have the sp cmc-08 omni mikes from Chris at SoundProfessionals, and am wondering if the akg's would offer an increase in performance.

I have not tried, but there is at least one person here who has (forget the name though).

As far as I can tell, the CK31 capsule is *just the electret*.  Like the AT853, you need a body with a FET in it to make this work.  I have been tempted to try these because I can find them cheap locally.  Just the caps, though.  The LM3 or GNxxx cables are expensive.
