I have an Edirol R-09...Could someone tell me what they use with this to record live music. Light stand, Mic, ETC? I have seen a lot of threads on the edirol but no one has said what there set up is? I have nothing yet but the R-09. This is what I was thinking about to start.

Most people here use external mics and pre-amps. There are hundreds of threads about the R-09 on this board, and there is a great search function, it is your friend. Also check out this thread: http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,71818.0.html (http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,71818.0.html)
Good Luck

For $20 more you can get better mics from Church Audio: http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,96900.0.html You can plug those straight into your R-09 or you can purchase a preamp from Church. I don't think that you'd get much use out of the tripod case, but it depends on what you're recording.
