BT help please
« on: November 13, 2005, 08:21:35 PM »
I jnust set up BT on a friend's computer and successfully used it once. Now any BT I start I get a
"10060 Operation timed out" error and it never starts. Any ideas on what I can do to get it back working?

thanks

10060 is can't connect...Did you Grant Access to BitTorrent through the Windoze Firewall? You might get this if you blocked BT.

What BitTorrent client? Are you sure your friends ISP allows bittorrent? Could be you're being blocked. Many Universities do this.

You are sure that the tracker is up right?

I turned off the firewall and the  client (BT 0.37) worked fine the first time I ran it on this computer. Now everyone I try gets that error so I know it can work. This is a home computer.

Are you sure the tracker is up? Just because you can download a torrent file DOES not mean the tracker is up.

I've tried around 5 different trackers and get the same error every time.
