Title: Stereo / AV Rack stand Recommendations ?
Post by: kindms on November 12, 2013, 12:10:35 PM
I was wondering if you guys/gals  have recommendations for stereo rack manufacturers etc. I am looking for a new setup. The old one I have is pretty cool but is more TV stand vs. stereo and that manufacturer only has a single option for stereo components

Not looking for rack mountable more furniture but am open to any suggestions. Basically looking for quality construction etc

Thanks.

More importantly, what's your budget. I love my solidsteel, but you may not be looking in that range.

Several threads on audiokarma.org with lots of info

basic really. 3 shelves possibly 4. Just looking for a solid construction that doesn't look cheap.

I dont want to break the bank but seeing as it will be a prominent piece in my home I dont mind spending a few bucks either.

i had a VTI rack (wider TV stand one) for a while that was pretty good. not sure if it's more than you want to spend, though

they have different colors (black, different "wood" colors, different caps, etc)

some variation of the BL-404 might be what you want

Thanks I was looking at the VTI stuff just the other day. Nice to have a former owner chime in about build quality

The solidsteel stuff Jason mentioned is also very nice. They have a series in the same general ballpark as the VTI stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions.

rocksuitcase - If I could afford Gordon I would be making a call for a mandala. I actually have the prefect place in the new house for one. I guess I could always win the lottery

It certainly was sturdy and got the job done for 5+ years with a significant amount of weight on it. Seemed pretty damn good for the price.  A friend is still using it.

it's not real wood, but I didn't care

Lol! That is why I suggested Symmetry in Wood with a wink!  ;) Too bad he is so expensive, although a smaller mandala may not be as much as you think. He could even customize one with your "family crest" or whatever you want for the middle of the mandala.! Back on topic- I hope you find something affordable and perfect for your equipment. I shouldn't have even chimed in on this thread, but couldn't resist >:D

If you are interested in Solid Steel, watch musicdirect.com or sign up for the catalog. They have sales and open-box closeouts fairly often. Got my rack for $100 off.
